The 2010 Misys European Customer Conference was held in Paris this year. The three day event was very successful with a record turnout of two-hundred and eighty delegates from all over Europe and forty partner delegates attending the event. The best part was the two splendid attractions nestled center stage: Domes!
The two 20′ domes were made by Pacific Domes and provided to the client by our distributor, Element Domes. These particular domes are unique because of their uncommon design. In the world of making domes, it’s not at all unusual to have a large window, or “Bay Window” as part of the dome. It is, however, not all that often that we design a door into that window.
The dome itself is made from an EventLite Fabric, which is a translucent material sewn together. The bay window, a thirty millimeter clear vinyl material, was welded together first and then sewn into the rest of the dome. Putting a hoop door in the middle of the bay window brought a little concern because of the nature of the clear vinyl material. It was important that it wouldn’t tear and had to be strong enough to handle the tension of the door. As this event has shown it was a job well done.
According to Misys, “…the BankFusion dome showcased our ‘game-changing’ solution, as well as a partner dome dedicated to additional breakout sessions and discussions.” The inside of the domes provided a prime environment for the hosts to present information in a memorable way and receive ideas and feedback from their clients. Guests enjoyed comfortable seating, a flat screen television for video display and there was even a podium for the speaker.
